New Year’s Resolution Time It’s the beginning of the new year and that means resolutions. Many people use this time of the year to start new hobbies or habits. This time of year can also be used to kick bad habits. This year I am making the resolution to learn to cook new recipes. This is a huge task for me. My bad habit is to cook fast. I like to cook with high heat, thinking it will cook faster. Well, that leaves a not so good char on the food. Which is also called burnt. Working with Premium Dakota Beef and a local family-owned butcher shop, my cooking skills have taken a turn for the better. Learning about the cuts of beef and how to cook them is a skill to be mastered. Slowing down and planning. Searing instead of burning. Slow roasting to slowly bring out those savory flavors makes absolutely delicious meals. This year my resolution is to learn to cook new recipes and share them with you. You will be able to find all the tasty beef recipes right here on our website. I dare you to try them out and let me know what you think of them. As I tell my kids, “A recipe is only a guideline.” Smelling and tasting the secret ingredients is one way to learn. Finding an expert to learn how to make the dish is another way and just doing a little research and jumping in is going to be my way. First recipe this year….PHO.
