Having a great steak can be made at home. Especially when you have a Wagyu steak from Premium Dakota Beef.
Directions
Tools:
Stove
Cast-Iron Skillet
Baking pan
Tongs
Hot pads
Aluminion Foil or Butcher Paper
Timer (if needed)
Ingredients:
Pepper
Salt
Olive Oil
Wagyu Beef Tallow
Butter
Chives
Parsley
Garlic*
Onions*
Let's Cook:
- Remove steak from the freezer and place in the frozen steak in the refrigerator overnight. Note: if you forget to remove the steak the night before place it on the counter to unthaw. I took mine out early in the morning for dinner/lunch.
- Remove the steaks from the packages and sprinkle them with salt on both sides. Let them sit for 1/2 hour.
- Place 4 tablespoons of butter into a bowl.
- Preheat the oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mince one small onion, chives, parsley, and garlic.
- Place your pan in the oven until it reaches 500 degrees.
- When the butter is softened at room temperature, add the minced ingredients to the butter and mix together.
- While the pan is heating in the oven, turn your stovetop on to Medium High Heat.
- Carefully remove the VERY HOT cast-iron pan from the oven with an oven mitt and place it on the already hot stove top burner.
- Add about 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of butter, and 1 tablespoon of Wagyu tallow. Let them melt.
- Pat the steaks dry with a towel and sprinkle them with pepper.
- Place the steaks in the already hot pan. Careful the handle is HOT! Careful of not to splash grease.
- If needed use a timer. Flip the steaks every two minutes for the next ten minutes with the tongs.
- Cook the steaks until they reach your desired steak temperature.
- We cooked our steaks until they reached an internal temperature of 135 to 145 degrees. We had a perfect Medium rare steak!
- Place the steaks on a plate and spread the butter mixture on top of the steaks. Let it melt through.
- Place Aluminum foil or butcher paper over steaks to let them rest for about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
Hint: if your steak is slightly frozen finish the steak in the oven after the above 10 minutes of searing until it reaches your desired temperature.
